I am an Indo (Desi) Canadian woman who is mother to two beautiful toddlers and their trouble-making dog, and wife to a patient, dedicated and gorgeous man.
I am opinionated, gregarious and often impish, impatient with those who can’t keep up with me. I solemnly lecture myself each day to be more patient and to be a better person. I’ve resigned myself to never quite making my own cut.
Hence the name of this blog: I am very much an Indolent Mama. I’m very good at a number of things, and completely lack the discipline and the willpower to be quite as brilliant at others. I have discovered that in order to have a lazy, laid-back life, I have to do certain things and take certain “short-cuts”… which I have found aren’t actually short-cuts in the traditional sense. This idea remained a paradox until I realized: The more effort I put into being indolent, the better organized I am, and the better I run my family.
Follow along as I describe my often hilarious adventures into family life (cue clash of cultures atop everything else!) and the attempt to have a semi-organized life, and help me be… an Indolent Mama!
